Again, more than likely that's a hardware issue, but I relate it to my use of Camtasia and have to plan accordingly, so I'm not doing anything else on the machine (it's an end of the work day time for rendering, so I can start the process and come back in the morning where HOPEFULLY the system is still up and running and the process completed). And that means I have to begin rending again from the beginning (sometimes multiple times).
Probably the hardest thing I've had with older versions (and maybe older hardware? so not actually an issue with Camtasia) is when I go to render, it eats up all my system resources and potentially shuts the computer down. Yes, you lose access to Support (since reasonably they only support the most recent versions), but you can still find plenty of community helps posted to the internet as an ongoing resource for assistance. But, then again, you don't have to continue paying for what you've already purchased, and it continues to work as the years go on.
I don't like that their subscription model is that of purchasing one version, but if you want/need the most current version, there's an associated cost. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
